Irma was an adventurer who enjoyed fishing and even braved whitewater rafting once with her grandson, Tony. She loved animals and the outdoors. She could recognize any bird by its call and her favorite was the cardinal. She had a green thumb and tended to her irises, roses, succulents and violets. Irma relished a good joke and a spirited game of euchre.
Irma also was a devoted caregiver who retired from Marietta Memorial Hospital as a nurse’s aide. She cared for her mother, her husband and her sister, Ruth, in their later years. It was a special delight for her to care for many generations of children in the family.
