James Edwards

James Robert Edwards, 86, of Rittman, died Thursday, November 15, 2018 at his home.

Jim was born August 9, 1932 in Somerset, Kentucky to Sherman and Margaret {Malone} Edwards.

He graduated from Wadsworth High School.  Jim served in the U.S. Army.

He married Nora “Nory” Sparks on September 3, 1955.  She passed on October 7, 2005.

He was a pipe fitter for Ford Motor Company, and also owned his own business Rittman Mechanical. James belonged to the American Legion, and the Rittman Moose Lodge, he was a social butterfly, but always put his family first.

Jim will be deeply missed by his children William (Susie) Keefer, Mark Edwards, Lane (Larraine) Edwards, Lisa Edwards, and Steven (Whitney) Edwards; grandchildren Billy, Renee, Shira, Shane, Jessica, Jacob, Sarah, Jamie, Lane, Laura, Nora, and Hattie; several great-grandchildren; brothers Dick (Roberta) Edwards, and Art (Barb) Keefer; sister Donna Maxon; and many nieces and nephews.

Jim was preceded in death by his wife of 50 years, his parents, his son Mike, and his brother Robert Keefer, and his niece Debbie.

Friends may call Tuesday from 1 to 3 p.m. at Roberts Funeral Home-Hillcrest Chapel, Seville. Funeral services will follow at 3 p.m. at the funeral home with Pastor Bruce Sparks officiating. Burial will be at Hillcrest Memorial Gardens, where military rites will be held.
