James A Lance, 80, of Wooster, died Monday, December 5 at Akron General Hospital.
Services will be Friday at 2pm at Roberts Funeral Home-Sherwood Chapel, Wooster. Online tributes may be made at www.RobertsFuneralHome.com. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Wayne County Humane Society, 1161 Mechanicsburg Rd., Wooster, OH 44691.
Jim was born July 15, 1936 in Wadsworth to Huston and Agnes {Bees} Lance.
Jim served in the National Guard then married Ruth Perram on June 12, 1960. She survives.
He co-owned Jim and Ben's Barber Shop in Wooster. He co-founded Real Estate Showcase in 1973 with Willis Miller and Dan Wiles; and was the broker there for many years. In 2010, he joined Marinello Realty. He was inducted into the Wayne County Board of Realtors Hall of Fame.
Jim enjoyed fishing, golfing, and pets. Jim was very social, known for his sense of humor, and meeting his friends every morning for coffee.
Jim will be deeply missed by his wife, Ruth; children Halle (Rick) Donaldson of El Cerrito, California and Randy Lance of Wooster; nieces and nephews.
Jim was preceded in death by his parents, three brothers and two sisters.
