James Martin

February 2, 1952 — January 12, 2015

James "Jim" Martin, 62, of Wooster, passed away Monday, January 12, 2015 at the Wooster Community Hospital after a brief illness.
Friends may call Wednesday from 5 to 7 p.m. at Roberts Funeral Home-Sherwood Chapel, Wooster. Services will be Thursday at 11am at the funeral home with Pastors Ken Thomas and Arnie Kaufman officiating. Burial will be at Sherwood Memorial Gardens, Wooster. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Wooster Meals on Wheels, in memory of Jim Martin, 241 S. Bever St., Wooster, OH 44691.
James was born February 2, 1952 in Wooster to Donald and Dorothy {Dickason} Krajcik-Martin.
He was a 1970 graduate of Wooster High School and joined the US Army in 1971, switching to the Ohio National Guard where he proudly served until 1993.
He married Patricia Baker on July 19, 1980.
James retired from Artiflex (formerly Gerstenslager Company) in August 2014, after 30 years working in maintenance development. During his retirement, James was a volunteer for Meals on Wheels and was a very active member of the Wooster First Church of God, where he served in many capacities such as the Elder Board, Council, leading a men's breakfast and Sunday evening Bible study, and assisting with the drive thru Nativity Scene. He was also an avid hunter and a member of the National Rifle Association and a life member of the North American Hunting Club.
James is survived by his wife Patricia Martin; children Shellie (Tim) Yoder, Daren (Diane) Bolen, Billie Hranko, and Matt (Amy) Martin.
He will be deeply missed by his grandchildren that held a very special place in his heart: Mike Ulrich, Sheyanna Paulin, Kali Bolen, Delanie Hranko, Dillon Bolen, Cole Martin, and Adra Martin; and his sister Peg Hart.
Jim was preceded in death by his parents.
