James "Jim" Ricer, 77, of Ashland, died Saturday September 5, 2015 at Toledo University Medical Center.
James was born February 10, 1938 in Woodsfield, Ohio to Frank and Dorothy {Briggs} Ricer.
He graduated in the year 1956 from Ashland High School.
He married his wife Carolyn Maust.
James retired from Hydromatic Pump after 29 years of work. He hunted and fished his entire life, He enjoyed camping and fishing at Lake Erie with his friends and wife.
James will be deeply missed by his wife; children Stephanie Knowlton, Mark Ricer, Kathy Ricer, Tim Maust, Tom Maust all of Ashland, Alan Ricer of Florida, Tina Berry of Georgia and Tammy Ricer of Kentucky; 24 grandchildren; 8 great-grandchildren; sisters Rosemary Ricer of Ashland and Dorothy Porter of West Virginia; special friends Jerry May and Wendy Maust.
James was preceded in death by his mother and father, brother Frank Ricer Jr. and sisters Donna Cline and Eileen Cline, son Brian Ricer and grandson Brian Ricer Jr.
Friends may call Wednesday from 2 to 3 p.m. at Roberts Funeral Home-Ashland Chapel, Ashland. Funeral services will be Wednesday at 3 p.m. at the funeral home following calling hours with Pastor Tommy Theisen. Burial will be at Ashland County Memorial Gardens. Memorial contributions may be made to the charity of the donor's choice.
