WOOSTER- James "Jim" Tausch, 81, of Wooster, passed away October 3, 2014 at Mercy Hospital in Canton, Ohio.
Jim was born January 17, 1933 in Salem, Ohio to the late James Sr. and Susan (Kovash) Tausch. On December 16, 1952, he married Bonnie B. Burnett. She preceded him in death (April 9, 2007). He was a graduate of Salem High School and served in the United States Navy during the Korean War. He retired from the Columbia Gas Company after thirty five years of service. Jim was a member of the Elks Lodge, Moose Lodge, VFW, and American Legion in Wooster and Port Clinton.
He loved fishing on his boat and spending time at Port Clinton with all of his buddies. He also enjoyed playing cards with his friends at the Elks. He had a great sense of humor and loved socializing.
Jim will be deeply missed by friends and family. Surviving are sons, Tim (Penny) Tausch, of Wooster, Ohio; Tom (Sherri) Tausch of Wooster, Ohio; grandchildren T.J. Tausch, of Dallas, Texas; Tori Tausch, of Wooster, Ohio, Taylor Tausch of Wooster, Ohio; and sister, Barbara Nicholson of Carlsbad, California.
A private family burial with military rights will take place. All friends of Jim are invited to a "Celebration of Life" get together at the Wooster Elks Lodge #1346- 335 N. Market Street, Wooster, Ohio 44691 on Saturday, October 11th at 3:00pm. Please come and celebrate the life of Jim!
