James “Jim” Delano Franks, 65, of Wooster, passed away December 30, 2020, at his residence.
Friends may call Saturday from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. at Roberts Funeral Home-Sherwood Chapel, Wooster. Due to COVID-19 restrictions, a private family service will be held at the funeral home with Pastor Benjamin Robinson officiating. Burial will be at Sherwood Memorial Gardens. Online tributes may be made at www.RobertsFuneralHome.com. Memorial contributions may be made to Wooster Apostolic Pentecostal Church at 3030 Columbus Rd. Wooster, OH 44691, funds will be donated to people of need.
Jim was born August 26, 1955, in Wooster to Forrest and Betty {Grosenbaugh} Franks.
He married Brenda Sipple on August 26, 1983.
Jim retired from The Ohio State University-Wooster Campus, he worked in the department of facility services. He was a member of the Wooster Apostolic Pentecostal Church. He enjoyed learning about history, specifically the Civil War. He also enjoyed garden tractor pulling, playing euchre, board games, talking to people on the phone, cats, riding and watching trains, reading, and most of all, he loved spending time with his family.
Jim will be deeply missed by his beloved wife of 37 years; son Michael (Roberta) Franks of Wooster; brothers Michael (Bonnie) Franks and Thomas Beckler both of Wooster; sisters Bonnie (Tom) Spencer of Sterling and Elizabeth Franks of Wooster; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Jim was preceded in death by his parents, sister Eloise Beckler, and niece Emily Spencer.
