James “Jim” D. Hawkins, 84, of Wooster, died Wednesday, June 12, 2019 at LifeCare Hospice.
Friends may call Saturday from 9:30 to 11 a.m. at Grace Church. Memorial services will be Saturday at 11 a.m. at the church with Pastor Bob Fetterhoff officiating. Jim was born March 5, 1935 in Covington, VA to Irvin B. and Sue Sally {Saunders} Hawkins.
He attended Grace College and the Medical College of Virginia.
He married Margaret Martin on December 22, 1956 in First Brethren Church, Wooster with Pastor Kenneth Ashman officiating.
Jim owned the Shreve Pizza Parlor and also worked for Wooster Community Hospital and TRW in Minerva. He was a member of Grace Church and the Gideons. He enjoyed golfing, bowling and playing tennis.
Jim will be deeply missed by his wife; children Stephen (Christine) Hawkins and Rebecca (Russell) Yoder both of Wooster; grandchildren Jordan (Joshua) Garrison of Wooster, Tyler (Cathy) Yoder of Culver, IN, Taylor (Jack) Kehl of Dover, Margot (Arlin) Steiner of Orrville; great-grandchildren Kenasyn and Myla Garrison, Asher Yoder, Jack Kehl, Eilee Garrison, Joseph Kehl, Ellery Yoder, Remi Garrison, Noelle Kehl, Callan Yoder, Madeline Kehl, Aubrey Steiner; sisters-in-law Betty (Will) Steiner of Orrville and Ruthi Martin of Wooster; numerous cousins, nieces and nephews.
