James "Jimmy" Harter, 65, of Fredericksburg, passed away September 8, 2018.
Jimmy was born November 28, 1952 in Wooster to Billy B. and Lois {Barnes} Harter.
He married Brenda Weirick on October 7, 2002 in Las Vegas. He was a loving father to Adam, Ashley, and Catrina.
Jimmy graduated from Waynedale High School in 1971 then served in the US Navy for 4 years.
He retired from The Wooster Brush Company after 37 years of service.
Jimmy enjoyed fishing, golfing, his flower beds and birds. He was also an avid mushroom hunter, traveling to Michigan with his brother Berny and the gang in search of the best mushrooms. Jimmy also enjoyed traveling with his wife Brenda.
Jimmy is survived by Brenda, his wife of 15 years; son Adam (Hannah) Harter of Maine; daughters Ashley (Wes) Howard and Catrina (Frankie) Burr all of Wooster; brother Berny (Judy) of Apple Creek; sister Linda (Bob) Tenney of Apple Creek; 6 grandchildren; many nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, Jimmy was preceded in death by a brother Bill.
The family would like to thank Aultman Compassionate Care Center for their care.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Fredericksburg Fire Department or the Fredericksburg American Legion.
Graveside services will take place September 27, 2018 at 11 a.m. at the Ohio Western Reserve National Cemetery. Those attending will meet at Roberts Funeral Home - Sherwood Chapel, Wooster at 10 a.m. to process to the cemetery. Online tributes may be made at www.RobertsFuneralHome.com.
