James "Sonny" Swearingen

James Elmer“Sonny”Swearingen passed away Oct. 31st, 2019 in Amherst, Ohio at the age of 83.

Son of Anna (née Torma) and Elmer, preceded in death by daughter, Audrey; he is survived by daughter Teresa, grandchildren Jamie, Jessica and Thomas, great grandchildren Kaden, Xander and Phoebe, many nieces and nephews and best friend Gerald.
James was a proud United States Marine and member of the Ohio Military Reserve. He was an outdoorsman who enjoyed trains, hunting and fishing and was deeply in touch with nature. He often explored Killbuck Marsh near his home in Wooster, Ohio where he would observe various wildlife and visit his favorite pond. He was a lifelong music lover and inspired all around him with his sometimes hidden gentle soul and strong constitution.

He will be laid to rest at Ohio Western Reserve National Cemetery in Rittman, Ohio.
