Janet Harrington Hersey

Janet Hall Harrington Hersey, 73, of Mount Vernon, OH, passed away on Tuesday, December 24, 2024, in Mount Vernon. Born on September 1, 1951, in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, Janet was a beloved daughter of Edwin Dunne Harrington and Alida Crawford (Hall) Harrington.

Janet pursued her passion for understanding the human mind and aiding others by earning her Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology from Stockton State College. She furthered her commitment to healthcare by obtaining her Registered Nurse degree from Atlantic City Community College. 

A devout member of St. Vincent’s De Paul Catholic Church, Janet found solace within her faith. She enjoyed life's simple pleasures, such as playing bingo and writing in her diary, where she captured her thoughts and reflections.

Janet will be missed by her brother David Harrington and his sister-in-law Kathy Krynski, as well as Renee and Becky, and other life long friends. She was preceded in death by her parents and her beloved daughter, Jan Hersey.

Janet will be remembered for her warm spirit, her kindness, and the legacy of love she leaves behind. Her burial will take place at Oak Grove Cemetery in Marietta, OH, where she will rest peacefully. She will be deeply missed by all who knew her.
