Jason Fitzgerald Henthorne died in an accident September 8 in Key West Florida.
He was born in Wooster to Jay Geiger and Mary Beth Henthorne. He attended Wooster High School for two years then Episcopal High School in Virginia where he ran track. He graduated from the University of Pennsylvania with a degree in Geology.
Jason had a penchant and passion for life. Each day was truly an adventure. His enthusiasm for life was contagious. Jason’s adventures are too numerous to list, he never met a stranger and had an amazing group of friends from around the world. Jason had adventures in nearly every state and amazing world travels; from fighting Muay Thai in Philadelphia, riding his motorcycle across the US, being an explosives expert in Colorado, hunting dangerous game in Africa, exploring, diving for, and finding lost Galleons in Florida and the Philippine Sea. Every moment was lived to its fullest. Jason was a Certified Petroleum Geologist, member of the AAPG and proudly worked with his father at Petro Evaluation Services in Wooster. Jason loved being a pilot and flying everywhere in his beloved Bonanza, his passion and love for flying is shared by his wife and kids. Jason was an avid hunter and loved hunting pheasant and duck in the US. He loved his country and had a deep admiration for all who serve our country. Jason was actively involved in tactical shooting and enjoyed constant learning associated with firearms. Jason was a member of the NRA and advocate for the Second Amendment. Jason challenged life and pushed those around him to live every single day to its maximum.
Surviving are his parents Jay and Mary Beth Henthorne of Wooster, his brother Jonathan of New York City, Heather (Kuntz) His wife of 16 years, and children Calvin and Piper whom he loved more than life itself. Jason loved his family and was a deeply devoted father, husband, son, brother, uncle and friend. Jason will be greatly missed by his extended family in Kentucky, his in-laws, Drew and Ava his nephew and niece whom he loved, and a world full of close friends.
Friends may call Sunday from 4-7 pm at Roberts Funeral Home - Sherwood Chapel, 7067 Cleveland Rd., Wooster. A private service will be held.
