Jean Rouch

Jean Marie Rouch, 89, of Orrville, passed away quietly Monday, September 15th with family by her side at Wooster Community Hospital.

Jean was born in Akron, Ohio to Leonard and Ada {Yahres} Clerkin on October 3, 1924. In 1931, she was adopted by an uncle and aunt, William and Helen Yahres Weaver of Wooster, Ohio. She was a graduate of Wooster High School, class of 1943.

Jean was a Charter Member of the Shreve Leaf and Petal Garden Club, Shreve Blue Star Mothers, Wayne County Historical Society, Wayne County Genealogical Society, Ohio Genealogical Society, Sharon, PA Genealogical Society, and Shreve American Legion Auxiliary. In addition, she was the past Vice President of the Holmes County Genealogical Society, past member of the Widow, Widowers, and Friends, and past Secretary of Wayne County AARP. Jean was also a crossing guard for Shreve Elementary.

Jean is survived by seven children: William (Lynda) Zehnder of Shreve, Patricia (Merv) Miller of Trenton, FL, Barbara (Randy) Karlen of Big Prairie, Elizabeth (Russ) Hazeltine of Conneaut, Carl (Peg) Peppard of Orrville, Gary (Leah) Peppard of Orrville, and Fred (Lori) Peppard of Dalton. She is also survived by her half-brother James Clerkin of Mesa, AZ, 15 grandchildren, and 16 great-grandchildren.

Preceding her in death were her parents, two brothers Leonard Clerkin and Richard Weaver, daughter Helen Zehnder Yockey, grandson David Peppard, half-sister Ada (Shigley) Vicari, and husbands Edward Zehnder, Donald Peppard, Ralph Shaffer, and William Rouch.

A memorial graveside service will be held at Sherwood Memorial Gardens in Wooster, Ohio on Thursday, September 18, at 4 p.m. In lieu of flowers, the family is requesting that donations be made to Life Care Hospice, 1900 Akron Road, Wooster, Ohio 44691 in memory of Jean Rouch.
