Jeanne Tobias

Jeanne Tobias, 93, of Creston, died Sunday, September 2, 2018 at the Apostolic Christian Home, in Rittman surrounded by her family.

Private services will be held at Roberts Funeral Home-Sherwood Chapel, Wooster with Chaplain Charlotte Glasgo officiating. Burial will be at Sherwood Memorial Gardens. Jeanne was born December 19, 1924 in Akron to Herman Allen and Etta {Fink} Swartz.

She married Ralph N. Tobias on August 21, 1943.  He died September 14, 2005.

Jeanne was a member of Chippewa Church of the Brethren. She was an avid reader, enjoyed crocheting for her children and grandchildren, and every Friday night she played cards with her husband and friends. Jeanne most loved being a homemaker, farm wife and everything it entailed, she was most famous for her chocolate cake.

Jeanne will be deeply missed by her children; children Sherry Marty of Creston, Jerry (Christine) Tobias of Conrad, IA, Jon (Karen) Tobias and Randy (Deb) Tobias both of Sterling; grandchildren Barb (Dave) Blevins, Mike (Dana) Marty, Katie (Peter) Kohl, Matt (Lexi) Tobias, Mark (Samantha) Tobias and Robby (Lexi) Tobias, Bonnie (Jeff) Burnside, Kathy (Tim) Rhoads, Nathan (Kim) Tobias, Ashley (Jay) Winans, Erin (Chad) Birkes and Nichole (T.J.) Dalenberg; great-grandchildren Emma, Evan, Ethan, Lily, Maecie, Grace, Gabe, Baylor, Emily, Heather, Conner, Ruby, Jonathan, Logan, Libby, Ella, Micah, Jacob, and Dylan.

Jeanne was preceded in death by her husband of 62 years, son-in-law Richard Marty, and brothers Merle and Burdette Swartz.
