Jennie Alberta Barnes, 87, of Wooster, died June 7, 2013 at Burbank Parke Care Center, in Burbank.
Friends may call Monday from 5 to 7 p.m. at Roberts Funeral Home-Sherwood Chapel, Wooster. Funeral services will be Tuesday at 11a.m. at the funeral home with Pastor Randy K'Meyer officiating. Jennie Alberta was born May 13, 1926 in Coshocton, OH to Alonzo M. and Mary C. {Schoonmaker} Steele.
Jennie Alberta married Howard H. Barnes on December 27, 1947. After 47 years of marriage; Howard died August 5, 1995.
She worked for Rubbermaid until she married Howard. Jennie Alberta attended church services at Burbank Parke Care Center. She was devoted to her family and her favorite hobby was hiking. Jennie Alberta was a member of the Salvation Army Recycled Teenagers Senior Group.
Jennie Alberta will be deeply missed by her children; Howard Barnes of Wooster, Jerry (Sandy) Barnes of Lodi, Jack (Connie) of Burbank, daughter-in-law Donna Barnes of Nashville, six grandchildren, thirteen great-grandchildren, Brother Francis (Betty) Steele of Wooster, Sister Bonnie Funk of Miamiville, OH.
Jennie Alberta was preceded in death by her parents, husband Howard, son Rick, daughter-in-law Barbara Barnes, Sisters Mina Burt, Hazel Stewart, Ann Langendorf and Margaret Ann Steele.
