Jerome Tavares

Jerome Damien Tavares, 62, of Wooster, died Saturday, November 16, 2019 at his residence.

Friends may call Friday from 1:00 to 2:00 p.m. at Roberts Funeral Home-Sherwood Chapel, Wooster.  Funeral services will follow at the funeral home. Jerome was born October 7, 1957 in San Jose, California to Jerome and Joyce {Ferreira} Tavares.

He graduated from Triway High School in 1975, then joined the United States Navy.

He married Barbara Porter and then later Debra Roberts

Jerome worked for many years as a pipe fitter, electrician, mechanic, welder, and master carpenter.   He attended St. Mary’s Catholic Church.

Jerome will be deeply missed by his children Veronica Burkey, Christina (Jason) Daugherty, Amy Tavares, Jerome (Crystal) Tavares III, Jennifer (Larry) Bradberry, Angela Haney, and Lacey Osborn; grandchildren Krystyna, Jordan, Samantha, Lacelynn, Luis, Mary, Joshua, Isabella, Sarah, Katelynn, Chelsea, Sara, Adrien, Alyssa, Rebecca, and Shyanna; mother Joyce Weirick of Wooster; brothers Lance Weirick, and Jim Weirick; and sister Raylene Hlavaty

Jerome was preceded in death by his father, daughter Sarah Tavares, his stepfather Nelson Weirick, and his brother Tim Weirick.
