Jerry Lynn Hiatt

Jerry Lynn Hiatt passed from this life on November 5, 2022 peacefully with his family by his side. He was born on October 28, 1939 in Portland, Ohio to the late Dorothy and Lawrence Hiatt. He married the love of his life, Saundra Sprague, on June 12,1960 in Marietta, Ohio. Jerry was employed by E. I. DuPont for 35 years.

Jerry was predeceased by sisters, Mary Catherine Hiatt, Ruby Williams, Violet Ritchie, and Norma Jean Webb.

In addition to the love of his life, Saundra, he leaves behind one daughter, Dawn, (Steve) Kirkbride of West Jefferson, Ohio and their children Aaron, Joel, Nicholas and Mitchell. A son, Mark, (Pepper) of Marietta, Ohio, and their children Lindsay (Brody) Speraw, Jaxson (Hayley) Lewis and Kyleigh Lewis. Great grandchildren include Ashlynn and JP Lewis, and Emerson Speraw. One sister, Carolyn Sapio of Gulfport, Mississippi and several nieces and nephews. He also leaves behind his cherished friend and granddog, Scarlett. 

Jerry was a lifelong member of Chapel on the Hill, Marietta and attended Norwood United Methodist in Marietta where he enjoyed serving meals and fellowship with others. Jerry never met a stranger and loved to strike up a conversation with anyone he met.

Funeral services will be at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday at Roberts Funeral Home with Pastor David Hubbard. Interment to follow at East Lawn Memorial Park. Visitation will be Tuesday from 2:00 to 4:00 p.m. and 6:00 to 8:00 p.m.
