Joan M. Smail, 82, of Millersburg, died Thursday, October 20, 2016 at Sycamore Run Nursing & Rehabilitation Center, in Millersburg.
Friends may call Sunday from 1 to 3 p.m. at Roberts Funeral Home-Sherwood Chapel, Wooster. Services will be Monday at 11 a.m. at the funeral home with Pastor Eric Fairhurst officiating. Friends may call one hour prior to the service from 10 to 11 a.m. at the funeral home. Burial will be at Sherwood Memorial Gardens. Online tributes may be made at www.RobertsFuneralHome.com. Joan was born April 20, 1934 in Millersburg to Albert and Lydia {Chupp} Lint.
She married Richard "Dick" Smail on August 11, 1956. He passed away on December 21, 2013.
Joan was a homemaker and enjoyed crafting and sewing.
Joan will be deeply missed by her children Barbara Slemmer (Mike Brown) of Benton, Rose (Richard) Little of Benton, James (Karla) Smail of Kansas and Paul Smail of Fredericksburg; 14 grandchildren; 31 great-grandchildren; six step-grandchildren; brother Raymond (Teresa) Lint of Killbuck; sisters Mary Lemon of Wooster and Dixie (Ty) Gibson of Ashland.
Joan was preceded in death by her husband Dick of 57 years, daughter Sharon Ancona, great-grandson Kaden Smail, and brother Robert "Bob" and Rita Lint.
