JoAnn Naeser, 88, of Marietta, passed away peacefully Thursday, March 12, 2020 at her home.
JoAnn was born February 22, 1932 in Clarksburg, West Virginia to Joseph and Mildred {Parks} McKinley.
JoAnn attended Brushy Fork grade school and graduated from Bridgeport High School in 1950. Shortly after graduation, she married Howard Naeser whom she met while attending West Virginia Wesleyan University. She was a retired substitute for Marietta City Schools, primarily at Phillips Elementary School. JoAnn was a lifelong member of the Christ United Methodist Church. She was a member of the Muskingum Area Garden Club for 40 years, and held all offices. She was a member of the Phillips Gang, who met monthly and a member of the Christ United Methodist Women’s Group.
JoAnn will be deeply missed by her sons Raymond (Debbie) Naeser and Henry (Lee) Naeser; grandchildren Joshua (Christina) Rizor, Rachel (Jacob) Plahovinsak, Phillip Naeser, Anita (Jared) Schlicher and Holly (Monica) Bernardo; great grandchildren Luke, Taylor, Maggie and Audrey Schlicher and Lowell Bernardo.
JoAnn was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Howard, and her daughter Elaine Rizor.
Friends may call Sunday, March 15th from 2 to 6 p.m. at Roberts Funeral Home-East Lawn Chapel, 27880 St. Rt. 7, Marietta. Funeral services will be Monday at 11 a.m. at the funeral home with Pastor Karen Muntzing officiating. Burial will be at Valley Cemetery.
