Joas Swartzentruber, 71, of Orrville, died December 19, 2014 at his residence.
Friends may call Saturday from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. at Roberts Funeral Home-Sherwood Chapel, Wooster. Funeral services will be Saturday at 12 p.m. at the funeral home with Pastor Mark McCord and Pastor Wendell Sinclair officiating. Burial will be at Sherwood Memorial Gardens. Joas was born December 16, 1943 in Fredericksburg, Ohio to Abe and Mary {Miller} Swartzentruber.
He married Lydia on August 1, 1972. Reverend Robert Barkley officiated their wedding.
Joas was a mill machine operator for Schantz Pipe Organ Co. for 27 years, retiring in 2010. He was an active member of the Highland Church of God. He enjoyed making crafts from wood, traveling, fishing with his friends, going to auctions and flea markets, and camping.
Joas will be deeply missed by his wife Lydia, sister-in-laws Maddie P. Swartzentruber and Amanda E. Swartzentruber, and brother-in-law Andy A. Miller, and his companions Spunky and Punky.
Joas was preceded in death by his parents, brothers Andy, Emmanuel, and Peter Swartzentruber and sisters Carolina Hostetler, Sarah Miller and Susie Hostetler.
