John Croskey

John W. Croskey, 86, of Ashland, died Thursday, November 9, 2017 at his residence surrounded by his loving family.

John was born October 18, 1931 in Killbuck to Jennings and Vera {Kerr} Croskey.

He served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War and was stationed in Germany.

He married Marie Burkholder on December 18, 1954.  She survives.

After the service, John was a barber for 25 years.  He started Croskey Furniture in Wooster in 1980 and then moved his business to Ashland in 1990.  John was a member of The American Legion Post #88.  He loved woodworking, which carried over to his love for the furniture business.  John also enjoyed music, where he played the banjo and guitar.

John will be deeply missed by his wife of 60 years; children Kathy (David) Krupp of Ashland and Carl (Carol) Croskey of Orrville; grandchildren Timothy (Autumn) Krupp, Andrew Krupp and Jonathan Krupp all three of Wooster, and Amy (Craig) Mast of Apple Creek; great-grandchildren Jonah, Phoebe, Olley and Liam Krupp, and Caleb, Hannah and Mason Mast; beloved dogs Queenie and Cinnamon.

John was preceded in death by his parents, brothers Don, Harold, Robert and Richard, and sister Jean.

Memorial services will be Tuesday at 3 p.m. at Roberts Funeral Home-Ashland Chapel, Ashland with Rev. Benjamin J. Roby officiating and where military rites will be held.   Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of North Central Ohio at 1050 Dauch Dr, Ashland, OH  44805.
