John A. Dumas, 81, of Wooster, died Tuesday, November 1, 2016 at Brookdale Senior Living, in Wooster.
Friends may call Thursday from 6 to 8 p.m. at Roberts Funeral Home-Sherwood Chapel, Wooster. Private services will be held with Pastor Randy Moomaw officiating. Entombment will be at Sherwood Memorial Gardens. John was born April 1, 1935 in Cleveland, Ohio to Lester J. and Mildred {Stamm} Dumas.
He graduated from Cleveland State University and earned his certificate of public accountancy in 1963.
He married Virginia E. Kus on September 6, 1958. She survives.
John was a CPA and partner at Meaden & Moore for 40 years before retiring in 1998. He was a member of the Rotary Club, Wooster Country Club and the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants. He enjoyed model training and working on his Corvette with his son, David. John enjoyed working in the yard, bowling, golfing, and playing tennis with his wife.
John will be deeply missed by his wife Virginia of 58 years; children Julie (Patrick) Miller of Burbank and David (Mary Kraft) Dumas of New Port Richey, FL; grandchildren Hunter, Sarah and Tristan Miller; sister Peggy Danielski; step-grandchildren Jessica, Jeremiah and Justin Kraft and their families.
