John S. Fulk, 88, of Ashland, died Sunday, January 6, 2013 at Brethren Care.
John was born on April 21, 1924 in Richland County, the son of F. Sidney and Esther (Eby) Fulk. He attended Union High School before joining the United States Navy in the early 1940's. He had proud memories of the ships he was stationed on, the USS Chew and USS Goshen.
He worked at Mansfield Tire for 33 years and was a proud member of the 25 year club. He then worked at the Budd Co. until he retired.
John was a member of the AMVets, American Legion and the VFW. He enjoyed deer hunting, farming, WWII memorabilia, western movies and had an avid interest in John Deere tractors.
John "dad" will be deeply missed by his children, Chris (Bill) Linnett of Merritt Island, Florida, Laurie (Bob) Burr of Pembroke Pines, Florida, and Thomas (Char) Fulk of Ashland; his grandchildren, Billy Linnett of Winter Haven, Florida, Kim Linnett of Jacksonville Beach, Florida, and Andrew Fulk of Ashland; brothers, Ray Fulk and Forest Fulk; sisters, Mary Keller, Phyllis Simpson and Marjorie Weekley; and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by brothers, Clarence Fulk and Henry Fulk.
Funeral services will be at 2;00 pm on Saturday, January 12, 2013 at Roberts Funeral Home, Ashland Chapel. Visitation will be Saturday from 1 pm to 2 pm at the funeral home. Burial will be at Ashland County Memorial Park. Military rites will be provided by the Ashland County Joint Veterans Honor Guard.
