John Paul Howard, 74, of New London, died Sunday, September 11, 2016 at The Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center, in Columbus.
John was born June 11, 1942 in Dayton to John Louis and Thelma Alice {Brotherton} Howard.
He attended Oberlin College for Business Administration.
John retired as the Facility Maintenance Manager from Oberlin College after over 20 years. He was a member of Alcoholics Anonymous for over 20 years. John enjoyed antiquing, motorcycles and was known for telling stories and making people laugh. One of his favorite sayings was, "put it in the big notch."
John will be deeply missed by his children Debbie Howard of Columbus and Daphne (Rick) Lorenz of Grove City and John (Maggie) Howard of Canal Winchester; brother Robert W. (Nancy) Howard of Greenwich; numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
John was preceded in death by his sisters Norma Hubler, Betty French and Mariam "Mimi" Luxon.
Private services will be held at Ashland County Memorial Park. Roberts Funeral Home-Ashland Chapel, Ashland is assisting the family with arrangements.
