John Robert Kaiser Jr, 78, of Gambier, OH, passed away Wednesday, March 12, 2025, at his home, in Gambier. John was born May 30th, 1946, in Columbus, OH to John Robert and Betty Eileen {Mercer} Kaiser. He married Patricia Raye Zent on August 21st, 1970.
After high school John attended college for a short time before volunteering for the Navy for 4 years. John worked for Ohio Bell for twenty-five years as a technician. He could fix anything for anybody and did. He loved to offer help to anyone he saw who needed it. He had a creative way of solving problems. If he needed it or wanted it, he made it. He loved fishing, even making his own weights and lures, computers, he built his own. He loved birds, building bird houses, and loved to watch the deer come up to him while he sat on a his swing. He never harmed an animal. His cats loved the nightly nap on his lap. He loved spending time with his family. He will be sorely missed by many people. He was an avid reader of all kinds, but lately comics of all kinds. His love of music shocked his family when they found he loved 80’s power ballads!
John will be deeply missed by his wife; children Stephanie (Ryan) Wendler, Adrienne Kaiser; grandchildren Zack Palmer, Joseph Wendler; sister Judy (Dick) Tomblin, his in-laws, Michael (Phyllis) Zent, Myrna (Dick) Meyer.
John was preceded in death by his parents and his brother in law Bill Tomblin.
The family will decide on a celebration of life at a later date. Online tributes may be made at www.RobertsFuneralHome.com. The family requests that rather than flowers memorial contributions be made to the Public Library of Mount Vernon and Knox County.
