John Edward Luke, 92, of Wooster, died Saturday, November 22, 2014 at Wooster Community Hospital.
Friends may call Wednesday from 10 to 12 a.m. at Roberts Funeral Home-Sherwood Chapel, Wooster. Burial will be at Sherwood Memorial Gardens, where military rites will be held.
John was born February 3, 1922 in Wooster to William and Mary {Schafer} Luke.
John served in the US Army Air Forces during WWII, where he was stationed in England.
He married Ruth {Cadmus} on September 10, 1942.
John worked for Crown Steel for 45 years before retiring. He was an active member in the American Legion and the Coin Club. He enjoyed attending and working local flea markets and auctions.
John will be deeply missed by his children John Thomas (Carolyn) Luke, Jeffrey (Sandra) Luke, and Jan Luke all of Wooster; grandchildren Mark Allen, Sean Edward, Troy Jonathon Luke, step-grandchildren Shane, Rick Weedman; and friends.
John was preceded in death by his wife Ruth, brother Carl, sisters Anna Salisberry, Frances Kreger, Alice McFadden.
