John Edward North Sr., 60, of Point Pleasant, WV, died Friday, August 22, 2014 at his home surrounded by his loving family.
John was born April 15, 1954 in Barberton to Robert Dale and Julie {Bartok} North.
John graduated from Norton high school in 1972.
He married Donna June (Sims) on June 23, 1973. Throughout the years they may have went their own way, but to them they always remained the best of friends.
John was a truck driver for many years. He was a member of South Main Street Church of God in Rittman. John loved spending time with his grandchildren. He enjoyed fishing, dirt bikes, NASCAR and stock car racing. In his younger years he attended races at Dragway 42. John was an avid Cleveland Browns, Cleveland Indians and The Ohio State Buckeyes fan. Throughout his life, John was known to spread the word and love of God.
John will be deeply missed by his best friend, Donna; son John (Shellie) North of Indianapolis and his daughter and caregiver over the years, Julie (Dallas) White of Point Pleasant, WV; grandchildren Telah, Logan and Austin; parents of Spencer, WV; brothers Robert and Greg (Tammy) North; sisters Diane (Gary) and Susan (Matthew).
John was preceded in death by his nephew, Gregory North, who was the apple of John's eye.
Friends may call Tuesday from 5 to 7 p.m. at Roberts Funeral Home-Hillcrest Chapel, Seville. Funeral services will be Wednesday at 11 a.m. at the funeral home with Pastor Jeff Ball officiating. Burial will be at Hillcrest Memorial Gardens. Memorial contributions may be made to South Main Street Church of God at 261 S. Main St., Rittman, OH 44270.
