John Peters

John A. Peters, 80, of Belpre, passed away Friday, February 23, 2018 surrounded by family following a long, courageous battle with cancer and Alzheimer’s.

Friends may call Sunday, February 25 from 1 to 4 p.m. at Roberts Funeral Home-East Lawn Chapel, 27880 St. Rt. 7, Marietta.  A celebration of life will be held at 4 p.m. at the funeral home with Pastor Ron Calvert officiating.

He was born March 26, 1937 in Cambridge, Ohio to Carl and Ruth {Shepler}
Peters. He graduated from Marietta High School. Following high school, John joined the U.S. Army 97th Engineer Battalion. He was stationed in Verdun, France where he met and married his wife Pierrette C. {Thiriot} Peters.

John was employed at GE Plastics for 33 years. John enjoyed hunting, fishing, and spending time with family.

John will be deeply missed by his wife Pierrette Peters; sister Judy (Harry) {Calender}; daughter Suzan (Chris) Shinn; son Jon (Rhonda) Peters; seven grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
