John W. Putt, 58, of Wooster, entered the presence of Jesus Monday, November 14, 2016 at his home after a courageous six-year battle with Multiple Myeloma.
Friends may call Thursday from 4 to 7 p.m. at Roberts Funeral Home-Sherwood Chapel, Wooster. Memorial services will be Friday at 11 at the Grace Church with Pastor Steve Kern officiating. Burial will be at Sherwood Memorial Gardens, where military rites will be held. Memorial contributions may be made to Grace Place Orphanage c/o Grace Church, 4599-A Burbank Rd. John was born December 31, 1957 in Sandusky, Ohio to William E. and Barbara L. {Bernard} Putt.
He graduated from Louisville High School in 1976, and then attended NCTC in Mansfield. John served in the US Army where he received the Army Commendation Medal.
He married Teresa D. Carney on August 22, 1987.
John worked for AT&F Advanced Metals in Orrville for 14 years. John worshipped and served at Grace Church. He loved outdoor activities that included fishing, camping, golfing, riding motorcycles and loved to travel. He was also an avid fan of the Cleveland Browns, Cavs, Indians and the OSU Buckeyes. He loved spending time with his family, church family and AT&F family.
John will be deeply missed by his wife; daughters Danielle Putt of Wooster, Erin (Brian) Bernhart of Holmesville, Cori (Tim) Michaels of Wooster and Brittany (Kyle) Picklesimer of Loudonville; grandchildren Anna, Levi, Jade, Brodian, Austin, Dawson, Asa, Micah, Ramona; brothers Jeff (Janay) Putt, of CO, Mike (Kay) Putt of FL, Tom (Janice) Putt of FL and Dennis (Robin) Putt of TN; sisters Sally (Bob) Dillow of Thornville, OH, Julie Kinslow of Columbus, Denise Stryker of Cuyahoga Falls, Nancy (Mike) Gosztyla of Columbus; and many nieces and nephews.
John was preceded in death by his parents.
