John Teschler

John S. Teschler, 93, of Ashland, died Thursday, April 12, 2018 at University Hospitals Samaritan Medical Center.

John was born August 12, 1924 in Mansfield to Steve and Margaret {Deschner} Teschler.

He served in the U.S. Navy during WWII.

He married Dolores “Dot” R. Zellner on August 2, 1947.  She passed away on June 13, 2007.

John retired from Automatic Welding after 31 years. He was a lifetime member of Hayesville Amvets Post #1969.  John enjoyed woodworking, welding, cowboy western movies, and spending time with his family.

John will be deeply missed by his children Soundra Baxter of Hayesville, Steve Teschler of Ashland and John H. Teschler of Hayesville; ten grandchildren; twelve great-grandchildren; brother James (Pat) Teschler of New Mexico; sisters Frances Herr of Mansfield, Mitzy West of California and Shirley Johnson of Mansfield.

John was preceded in death by his wife of 60 years, one great-granddaughter and brother Bill Teschler.

Services will be Monday at 11 a.m. at Roberts Funeral Home-Ashland Chapel, Ashland. Friends may call one hour prior to the service from 10 to 11 a.m. at the funeral home.  Burial will be at Ashland County Memorial Park, where military rites will be held.
