Johnie Broadnax

Johnie W. Broadnax, 87, of Wooster, went home to be with the Lord, Tuesday, September 1, 2015 at Wooster Community Hospital.
Friends may call Tuesday from 10 to 11 a.m. at Second Baptist Church, 245 S. Grant St., Wooster, OH 44691. Services will be Tuesday at 11 am at the church with Rev. Ricky Brown Sr. officiating. Burial will be at Sherwood Memorial Gardens, where military rites will be held. Memorial contributions may be made to Roberts Funeral Home, P.O. Box 761, Wooster, OH 44691.
Johnie was born October 31, 1927 in Autaugaville, AL to Arthur L. and Rhuby {Staudmire} Broadnax.
He served in the US Army during the Korean War.
He married Mary M. Lee on July 6, 1957. She passed on January 7, 2013.
Johnie worked for People Federal Bank for 30 years. He was a deacon in the Second Baptist Church for over 40 years. He loved gardening, yard work and spending time with his grandchildren. Johnie was known around the neighborhood for helping others with their snow removal and work around the yard.
Johnie will be deeply missed by his children Kenneth, Anthony; grandchildren Aaron and Steven; many nieces and nephews.
Johnie was preceded in death by his wife, parents and sister Olivia Howard.
