John “Jack” Kirven, 84, of Wooster, died Sunday, February 2, 2020 at LifeCare Hospice.
Friends may call Thursday from 5 to 7 p.m. at Roberts Funeral Home-Sherwood Chapel, Wooster. Services will be Friday at 11 a.m. at the funeral home with Pastor Keith Smith officiating. Jack was born December 16, 1935 in Massillon to John Jacob and Gertrude {Shilling} Kirven.
He married Julia E. Henson on February 20, 1954.
Jack retired from Astro Metallurgical as a quality control manager. He loved movies and music, photography, playing his guitar, and shopping for his wife. Jack had a terrific sense of humor and enjoyed being the center of attention, always making everyone laugh.
Jack will be deeply missed by his wife of 66 years; children John (Shirlee) Kirven Jr. and Jerry (Mary Jo) Kirven both of Wooster, Jill (Dave) Wrather of Smithville, Jodi Lee of South Carolina, Julie (Bill) Lauro of North Carolina, and Jackie (Alan) Messenger of Orrville; 13 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; brother Tom (Becky) Kirven of Massillon; sisters Ruthie Moser, Nancy (Manuel) Morales, and Peggy Miller.
Jack was preceded in death by his son-in-law William Lee and sisters Mary Bratton, JoAnn Skelly, Patty Dray and Sally Kirven.
