Joseph Rowland Harris, 81, of Wooster, died Monday May 4, 2015 at Smithville Western Care Center, in Wooster.
Funeral Service will be held at 2 pm Thursday May 7, 2015 at Roberts Funeral Home- Sherwood Chapel, Wooster, where military rites will be held. Burial will be at Ohio Western Reserve National Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to Life Care Hospice, 1900 Akron Road, Wooster, OH 44691.
Joe was born July 11, 1933 in Blossburg, PA to Joseph and Martha {Cowden} Harris.
He married Madelyn {Wolfe} on October 17, 1955.
The last surviving member of the original High Falls Camp owners, Joe joins Louie Weekley, Paul Buehler, Dave Bishop, Ray Hamilton, Sterling Hostetler and his special friends of the Camp, Bob Horn, Dale Beckler, and Merv and Bert King on their last great fishing trip through the gates of heaven and life eternal. The son of a preacher, and proud of it, Joe could quote you a verse or sing you a hymn, and would surely ask you if you knew why fire engines are painted red.
Joe is survived by wife (59 years) Madelyn nee Wolfe, sons John (Natalie) from Stow and David (Kristine) from Akron, and daughter in law Valerie from St Marys, Pa. And seven grandchildren, Elise, Erica, Amanda, Elizabeth, Rachel, Colin and Olivia
Joe was preceded in death by his father Joseph, mother Martha, sister Margaret, and son Stephen.
A great Husband, Father, Teacher to his Sons and joke teller to all, Joe will be deeply missed. "There is no limit to the amount of good you can do, as long as you don't care who gets the credit"
