Joyce I. Meier, 67, of Apple Creek, died Saturday, January 17, 2015 at Smithville Western Care Center, in Wooster.
Friends may call Tuesday from 5 to 7 p.m. at Roberts Funeral Home-Sherwood Chapel, Wooster. Services will be Wednesday at the funeral home at 11 am at with Pastor Kenn Curren officiating. Burial will be at Apple Creek Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to LifeCare Hospice, 1900 Akron Rd., Wooster, OH 44691.
Joyce was born June 13, 1947 in Wooster to Roy E. and Candis L. {Starr} Grosjean and graduated from Northwestern High School in 1965.
She married James Dean Meier on October 15, 1977, he died in 1998.
Joyce was a payroll clerk for the JM Smucker Company for 25 years, retiring in 2004.
She was a member of the Apple Creek United Methodist Church and the Apple Creek Philomatheans, the Smucker Retirees, and Widows, Widowers, and Friends.
Joyce will be deeply missed by brothers Eugene (Charlotte) Grosjean of Shreve and Daniel (Pam) Grosjean of Washington State, sister Judy (Richard) Marty of Wooster; and sister-in-law Edie Grosjean of Wooster; nieces and nephews; and special friends the Delbert Lebold family of Apple Creek.
Joyce was preceded in death by her husband James, her parents, brother James.
The family would like to thank the staffs of Smithville Western Care Center and LifeCare Hospice for the loving care they gave to Joyce.
