Julia White

July 27, 1941 — April 21, 2025

Whipple

Julia White (Hyde) a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and friend, passed away at her home in Whipple, Ohio on April 21, 2025. She lived a life full of grace, kindness, and unwavering devotion to her family and friends.

Julia married John Edward White Jr., on September 17, 1967. Together they built a beautiful life, raising two children: Jason White (Renea) of Lower Salem, Ohio, and Jona Rinard (Josh) of Williamstown, West Virginia. Her greatest pride was her family, which grew to include six cherished grandchildren: Alexis White, Alyssa White, Hudson Rinard, Helen Rinard, Gabrielle (Tyler) Fredericks, and Dalton Ball.

Julia's love for family extended beyond traditional ties. She shared a special bond with her niece, Elizabeth Anne (Forbes) Brown, and embraced children she considered great-grandchildren: Asher Brown, Owen Brown, Aaron Brown, Coleston Ball, Levi Ball, Luke Frederick and Brinalyn Ball. Julia firmly believed that family was not just defined by blood but by love — a lesson she lived daily and passed on to everyone she knew. She is also survived by her brother Darwin Berkeley Hyde Jr. (Carolyn) of Florida and Melissa Forbes (Randy) of Marietta; both who she loved dearly as well as numerous nieces and nephews. Preceding her in death are her husband John White Jr, Ora Waveline Lane (mother) and Darwin Berkeley Hyde Sr. (father), Ora Francis Toller (sister), Beatrice Genevieve Jervis (sister).

Julia graduated from Marietta High School in 1959. She prided herself on being from the westside of Marietta and maintained a close friendship with many of those in which she attended school. Professionally, Julia dedicated 30 years to GMAC, working in finance. Upon her retirement, she found her true calling as a substitute bus driver for Fort Frye Local School District, where she delighted in the energy and spirit of the students she transported.

Julia was deeply involved in her community, serving as a 4-H advisor for the Lower Salem Honeybees 4-H Club, and supporting her children through years of band and athletic boosters at Fort Frye. After her children were grown, she pursued her creative passions of quilting and painting and spent precious time traveling with John, camping across Ohio with their friends from the Good Sam's Camping Club and attending Samborees. She especially loved their trips out west, where her fascination with Western history came alive. She was also part of a local women's investment group in Marietta.

In her later years, Julia and John made Frostproof, Florida, their winter home. There, she embraced the outdoors and made lasting friendships, savoring every moment in the sunshine.

Above all, Julia was a mother in every sense of the word — nurturing, wise, strong, and full of love. She taught her children and grandchildren to work hard, chase their dreams, care for one another, and find happiness in life’s simple moments. She was most proud of their successes and the love and generosity they also shared with others.

Julia White was deeply loved and will be profoundly missed. Her family finds comfort in knowing she is now waiting to welcome them home one day in Heaven.

In closing, the family would like to extend our deepest gratitude to the dedicated team of nurses and caregivers who provided unwavering support and compassion to Mom throughout her journey. Rebecca, Amie, Kim, Carly, Cody, Jean, Whitney, Teya, Jolene, and Gabrielle; the care they provided was not just professional but filled with kindness and warmth, bringing comfort during her most challenging moments. Their commitment to her well-being has left an indelible mark on our hearts, and we are forever thankful for the love and comfort provided. We know the conversation and insight she provided during visits is what made their relationship so special. We will all cherish those words of love and wisdom she shared.

Burial will be private at East Lawn Memorial Park in Marietta.
