Junior R. Derhammer, 94, of Wadsworth, died Saturday, April 21, 2018 at Doylestown Health Care Center.
He was born June 26, 1923 in Wadsworth, Ohio to Carmen and Kathryn {Ries} Derhammer.
He graduated from Wadsworth High School in 1941.
Junior married Fern Jessel on March 18, 1944. She passed away on May 17, 2003.
He started his career as a carpenter, and then became a building inspector for Medina County for 20 years, and was the Tri-County Building Officials Association President in 1980. He enjoyed camping in his motor home, exploring Amish Country and watching the grandkids in softball and baseball games.
Junior will be deeply missed by his children Cathy Derhammer, Roger (Sandra) Derhammer, John (LouAnn) Derhammer, and Mary (William) Johnson, longtime family friend Phoebe Tenney; 8 grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, wife Fern, brother Bob, and granddaughter Kristie Moore.
Friends may call Tuesday from 4:00 to 6:00 p.m. at Roberts Funeral Home-Hillcrest Chapel, Seville. Funeral services will be Wednesday at 1:00 p.m. at the funeral home with Reverend Mark Scotton officiating. Burial will be at Hillcrest Memorial Gardens.
