Karen Sue Powell, 74, of Wadsworth, died Sunday October 29, 2017 at her home.
Karen was born November 7, 1942 in Norton, Ohio to Tollie and Beatrice {Connery} Jennings. She was a graduate of Norton High School. She married Chuck Powell on August 26, 1960.
Karen was a member of Crescent Club, a women’s civic service organization. She also volunteered for Girl Scouts, Band and Music Boosters, Barberton Hospital, Church Clubs, Hope Caring Group, Food Pantry, and was a Bazaar Committee Member and Contributor. Karen was a member of Seville United Methodist Church. She loved to cross stitch, make crafts, shopping, and travel.
Karen will be deeply missed by her husband; children Tom (Lana) Powell, Denise (Shawn) George, and Jennifer (Jason) Fryer; grandchildren Diana Slaughter, Jacob George, Alyssa Powell, Ashley Derby, Joseph George, Steve Crowder, James George, and Clayton Johnsen; great-grandchildren Parker Huffman and Jack Slaughter; sister Ronda (Homer)Watson
Karen was preceded in death by her parents; and her brother Gary Jennings.
Friends may call Wednesday from 4:00 to 6:00 p.m. at Roberts Funeral Home-Hillcrest Chapel, Seville. Funeral services will be Thursday at 11:00 at the funeral home with Pastor Don Trigg officiating.
