Kathy Flechler

Kathleen Dunn Flechler, 55, passed away at her home in Wooster, Ohio on Wednesday, March 7, 2018.   Born in Springfield, Ohio on July 18, 1962, Kathy was the beloved daughter of Edward William Dunn and Margaret “Barda” Burt Dunn.  She graduated from Springfield Catholic Central High School in 1980.
Kathy graduated from Bowling Green State University in 1984 with a bachelor’s degree in social work.  Following graduation, she worked in Phoenix, Arizona for four years, first as a nursing home social worker and then in sales and marketing for the Visiting Nurses Association.  She returned to Ohio in 1988 after being recruited to a sales position with American Nursing Care in Columbus.  In 1992, Kathy moved to Wooster and joined Nestle Clinical Nutrition to begin a rewarding career that spanned 25 years.  During her long and successful tenure at Nestle, she held many different positions to advance her career.
On June 4, 1994, Kathy married Paul Thomas Flechler, the love of her life and her best friend.  Kathy loved spending time with Paul and their two children, Luke and Maggie.  She also cherished time with her mom and dad, brothers, sisters-in-law, nieces, nephews, and many wonderful relatives on the Flechler side of the family.  Her family, friends, and many co-workers gave Kathy much joy in life.
Kathy recently said she realized her gift was being a great friend.  She loved all her friends very much, including her Wooster girlfriends and their spouses, co-workers, neighbors, and high school and college friends. They all were special to her and so helpful to Kathy and her family.
In her spare time, Kathy loved walking, reading, tennis, playing cards with her friends, and cuddling her dog, Becky.  Besides spending time at home in Wooster, her favorite getaways were the beach at Siesta Key, FL and Eagle Bay Lodge in Park Rapids, MN.
Kathy wished to acknowledge her entire medical team for all of their hard work, diligence, love and support.  She felt that as much as possible they made what could have been a difficult 6 years into a time of great learning.
Kathy is survived by her loving husband of 23 years, her children and parents, brothers Joe (Lisa) Dunn of Springfield, Ohio, Michael (Mary) Dunn of St. Paul, Minnesota, and James Dunn of Springfield, Ohio, nephews Patrick, Michael and Matthew Dunn, and a niece, Kelly Dunn.  Kathy will be deeply missed by her extended family.
Friends may call on the family Sunday from 2-6 p.m. at Roberts Funeral Home, Sherwood Chapel, 7067 Cleveland Rd, Wooster, Ohio.  A funeral Mass will be held  Monday at Saint Mary Catholic Church in Wooster at 11am with the Rev.
