April 9, 1932 — February 3, 2017

Larry Shannon Dailey, 84, of Marietta, Ohio, passed away Friday, February 3, 2017 at Marietta Memorial Hospital. He was born April 9, 1932 in Marietta, Ohio to the late Pearl Dailey and Nellie Dailey.
Larry graduated from Marietta High School in 1950. He served in the United States Air Force as an Aircraft Mechanic during the Korean War. After his time in the service, he attended the Hobart Institute of Welding in Troy, Ohio. He continued his career as a self-employed Water Well Driller and tended to his lease oil wells. Larry enjoyed growing vegetables in his garden.
Larry was a life member of the Elk's Club #477 and Veteran of Foreign Wars #5108. He was also a member of the American Legion #64 and Masonic Lodge #390.
He is survived by his wife of 60 years Terry Scott-Dailey, his daughter Melanie Steed (Andy); grandchildren Tyler Steed and Tara Steed-Wajszczyk (Dan); sisters Kathryn Weihl (Gene) and Teresa Huck (Max); brother Roy Dailey (Janet); mother-in-law Thelma Scott. He was preceded in death by his parents and three sisters, Ruth Irvine, Helen Harton and Margaret Bules.
Visitation will be held Monday, February 6, 2017 from 4 to 8 PM at Roberts Funeral Home – East Lawn Chapel, 27880 St. Rt. 7, Marietta 45750. Funeral services will be Tuesday at 10 AM at the funeral home, where military rites will be held. Burial at East Lawn Memorial Park.
