Larry J. Hansen

Larry J. Hansen, 79, of Wooster, died Monday, September 5, 2022, at his residence.

Friends may call Thursday from 1 to 3 p.m. at Roberts Funeral Home-Sherwood Chapel, Wooster. Services will be Thursday at 3 pm at the funeral home with Bob Zerrer officiating. Burial will be at Sherwood Memorial Gardens. Online tributes may be made at www.RobertsFuneralHome.com. In Lieu of flowers Memorial contributions may be made to a charity of the donor’s choice.

Larry was born August 18, 1943, in Lansing, Michigan to Melvin J. and Christine Hansen.

He graduated from Western Michigan with a BA degree. Larry served in the National Guard.

He married Lisa Chenevey on July 19, 2003. She survives. 

Larry worked for Oldsmobile in Lansing, and then moved to Wooster in 1975 to work for Akron Brass until 1993. He then started Hansen Enterprises until 2009 when he sold the business and worked for Crestar Fire Equipment for 10 years. Larry spent his retirement days delivering for Hackworth Electric Motors. He was a member of the Elks and enjoyed Saturday mornings with Liars Club. He enjoyed Golfing, playing racquetball, reading and spending time in the pool with friends and family.

Larry will be deeply missed by his wife Lisa; children Julie (Matt O’Connor) Hansen of Port Clinton, Brian J. (Laura) Hansen of Wooster; grandchildren Noah, Grant, Tommy J., Ellie and Pierce; in-laws and many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins.

Larry was preceded in death by his parents.
