Larry Mann

Larry Dean Mann, 74, left for his heavenly home on June 19, 2023, after battling cancer.

Larry was born May 5, 1949, in Lodi, Ohio to Herman and Virginia {Grissinger} Mann.

He married the love of his life, Marian (Black) Mann on June 24, 1972. She survives. He left behind a daughter, Amy (Ron) Miller of Clinton, Ohio and a son Daniel (Annie) Mann of Prosper, Texas. He was a loving “Papa” to Celeste and Logan Miller; Nicholas, Danielle and Nolan Mann; and Eric and Athena Hawkins. He is also survived by a sister, Renee (Andy) Parker and a brother Ron Mann. He has been reunited with his daughter, Emilie, and his parents, who preceded him in death.

Larry graduated from Northwestern High School in 1967 and lived his entire life in West Salem, Ohio. He retired from the Ohio Bureau of Employment Services where he served as an auditor. After retirement, he worked for the Ashland Samaritan Hospital system for a number of years as a courier. He was a member of the West Salem United Methodist Church where he served as Treasurer, Trustee and all-around handyman. He was a dedicated and loving husband and father. He was very proud of his children, and he enjoyed following his grandchildren’s sports and activities in person and online. He loved learning new things and would research an area of interest until he figured it out to help both himself and others. He took great pride in taking care of his home of 51 years and also enjoyed cooking, walking, yardwork, helping others with “computer” things, volunteering for various organizations and spending time with family.

A service to celebrate Larry’s life will be held at Roberts Funeral Home in Wooster on Sunday July 9, 2023 at 3pm with a time of greeting beginning at 2 pm. Memorial contributions may be made to the West Salem United Methodist Church.
