Laurence "Larry" Monahan, 89, of Wooster, died Monday, November 19, 2012 at Glendora Nursing Home, in Wooster.
Funeral Services will be Monday at 3 P.M. at Roberts Funeral Home-Sherwood Chapel, Wooster with Rev. Black officiating. Friends may call one hour prior to the service from 2-3 p.m. at the funeral home. Burial will be at Sherwood Memorial Gardens. Online tributes may be made at www.RobertsFuneralHome.com. Larry was born May 18, 1923 in Wheeling, W. VA to Thomas and Margaret {Grimes} Monahan.
He married Harriet Crater on February 9, 1951. They have been married for 61 years. She survives.
Larry worked for the U.S. Post Office for 30 years and retired in 1985. He was a member of the United Methodist Church. Laurence enjoyed swimming, gardening and cooking. He loved classical music.
Larry will be deeply missed by his wife Harriet; children Laura (Terry) Myatt, David (Linda) Monahan, Richard Monahan, Dennis (Janet) Monahan all of Wooster and Susie (Rich) Cavins of Benld, Ill., grandchildren Tim, Scot, Jonathan, Matthew, April, Sarah and Cindy and 2 great-grandchildren
He was preceded in death by his parents and his son Mark.
