Lee Roy Harper Sr., 84, of Ashland, died Sunday, June 14, 2015 at Crystal Care Center, in Mansfield.
Lee was born October 26, 1930 in Morehead, KY to Jesse and Lilly Harper.
He married Mary Ruth {Hickerson} on October 8, 1952. She passed on May 9, 2012.
Lee worked at Abbott Labs for over 32 years. He loved the outdoors and going camping in his spare time.
He will be deeply missed by his children, Linda (Steve) Ray of Pickwick, TN, Lee Roy Harper Jr., of Mansfield, and Rick Harper, of Ashland; 6 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren ; brothers Harley (Sonya) Harper; sisters Jessi Mae (Harold) Schoolcraft, Thelma Wenthrow, Ruth Wenthrow, and Mamie (Bill) Ball.
Lee was preceded in death by his wife, Mary, of 59 years and sister Betty Summerton.
Services will be Wednesday at 3 p.m. at Roberts Funeral Home-Ashland Chapel, Ashland. Friends may call one hour prior to the service from 2 to 3 p.m. Burial will be at Ashland County Memorial Park.
