Lee Edward Smeltzer

Lee Edward Smeltzer, 79, of Ashland, died Friday, October 14, 2022 at Kingston of Ashland.

Lee was born February 12, 1943 in Ashland to Ralph and Alvesta {Ohl} Smeltzer.

He married Charlotte Kestner on July 24, 1966. 

Lee was a farmer, a building contractor, a truck driver, and drove school bus number 16 for Ashland City Schools where he retired in 2020.  He was a member of Heritage Baptist Church. Lee loved mowing grass on his John Deere lawn mower.

Lee served in The Ohio National Guard for 6 years.

Lee will be deeply missed by his wife; children Randy Lee (Brenda Olmstead) and Jared Edward (Katherine) Smeltzer both of Ashland; grandson Jack Edward Smeltzer; brothers Richard (Sara) and Paul (Regina); sisters Betty Tennant and Kathryn Couch

Lee was preceded in death by his parents, an infant brother, and two brothers in-law.

Friends may call Monday from 5 to 7 p.m. at Roberts Funeral Home-Ashland Chapel, Ashland.  Services will be Tuesday at 11 am at the funeral home with  Pastor Ben Roby and Pastor Jared Smeltzer officiating.  Burial will be at Ashland County Memorial Park.  Online tributes may be made at www.RobertsFuneralHome.com. Memorial contributions may be made to Heritage Baptist Church, 401 Center St. Ashland, OH 44805.
