Leona Marie Meagle

Leona Marie Meagle, 98, of Marietta, passed away Monday, August 5, 2024 at her home.

Leona was born November 27, 1925 in Marietta to Carl and Cordelia {Brookover} Congleton.

She was a 1943 graduate of Marietta High School. 

Leona married Richard Meagle on January 26, 1946. 

She retired from Ohio Valley Cable Corp in 1987 after 24 years of employment. After retiring, Leona touched many lives at Marietta Memorial Hospital where she volunteered for 20 years. Leona attended St. Luke’s Lutheran Church and was a member of the O’Neill Senior Center. 

Leona will be deeply missed by her son Steven R. Meagle; daughter Christine A. Hendrickson; grandson Richard Bradley Meagle; step grandchildren Ginger Brown, Angela Huck and Geri Sobczak niece Pamela McBride and nephew William Meagle; and several great and great-great nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, Leona was preceded in death by her husband Richard Meagle, her sisters Jessie May Congleton and Ruby Meagle, brother- in-law James Meagle Sr.; nephew James Meagle Jr., son-in-law Gene Hendrickson.

Friends may call Wednesday, August 7th from 2 to 4 p.m. at Roberts Funeral Home-East Lawn Chapel, 27880 St. Rt. 7, Marietta. A graveside service will follow at 4 PM at East Lawn Memorial Park.
