Leona Marie Ramsier, 96, of the Wayne County Care Center, Wooster, went to be with the Lord Wednesday January 3, 2013 at Wooster Community Hospital, after a short illness.
Friends may call Tuesday from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. at Roberts Funeral Home-Sherwood Chapel, Wooster. Funeral services will be Tuesday January 8 at 11 a.m. at the funeral home with Reverend Kenneth Teter officiating. Burial will be at Mallet Creek Cemetery Medina Ohio at 1 p.m. on Tuesday January 8. Leona was born July 24, 1916 in Oceola, West Virginia to Omer and Buelah {Teter} Kerns.
Leona married Hoye L. White on April 16, 1934. Hoye passed away on March 3, 1975. She worked for Crestview Nursing Home and retired in 1976. Leona was a member of the Auckerman Church of God. She enjoyed spending time with her children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great - great grandchildren.
Leona will be deeply missed by her children; Lillian (Vaxter) Lambert of Massillon, Helen (Troy) Lambert of Canton, Lois (Dale) Weaver of Shreve, Bonnie (Johnie) Hedrick Of West Virginia, Carl (Diana) White of Medina. 18 grandchildren; 24 great-grandchildren; and 6 great-great grandchildren.
Leona was preceded in death by her parents; husband Hoye White and her second husband Herbert Ramsier; daughters Wanda and Carol White; son Ralph White; brother Hobert Kerns; sister Donna Teter.
