Leonard "Dale" Chaney, 94, of Seville, passed away peacefully at home on Thursday, November 10, 2016 .
There will be a graveside service held at 1 p.m. on Thursday with Major Tom Grace at Hillcrest Memorial Gardens, where military rites will be held. Friends may call one hour prior to the service from 12 to 1 p.m. at Roberts Funeral Home- Hillcrest Chapel, Seville. Online tributes may be made at www.RobertsFuneralHome.com. Dale was born July 25, 1922 in Wadsworth to William Louis and Mary {Smith} Chaney.
He served in the United States Army during World War II.
He married Thelma Price on March 1, 1961.
Dale retired from the K&B Card Company as a printer where he worked for over 25 years. He loved to do photography in the Amish county, fishing, and going out to eat with Thelma. Dale was also known by his friends and family for being a wonderful storyteller.
Dale will be deeply missed by his children Yvonne Rutherford of Orrville, Tracey Hill of Tunnelhill, Georgia, John Chaney of Shreve; stepdaughters; Esther Huff of Wadsworth, Susan (Don) Kaufmann of Marshallville, Judy (Jim) VanVaile of Rittman, seven grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; 16 step-grandchildren; 28 step-great-grandchildren; 15 step-great-great-grandchildren; sister Betty Alice Rollyson of Bradington, FL: niece Jeannie Armstrong; nephews Richard, Johnny and David
Dale was preceded in death by his wife and best friend, daughter Barbara, son Bob, five brothers and four sisters.
