Lina Canlas

Lina Venturina Canlas, 89, of Ashland, died Saturday, October 20, 2018 at her residence surrounded by her loving family.

Lina was born August 21, 1929 in Santa Rosa Nueva Ecija, Philippines to Mamerto and Guadalupe {Aquino} Venturina.

Lina graduated from Centro Escolar University where she obtained a Bachelor of Science in pharmacy.

She married Hilarion Canlas Jr. on March 18, 1958.  He passed away on November 30, 2006.

She worked as a pharmacist in the Philippines and when she moved to the United States in 1976 she worked as a Lab Tech at Phoenix Dye Works.   Lina was a member of St. Edward Catholic Church for 24 years. She was very involved with the activities at Mill Run Place.  Lina loved cooking for everyone and spending time with her family and friends.

Lina will be deeply missed by her daughters Rose (Mark) Snyder of Medina, Grace (Tom) Franz of Virginia, Lina (Lance) Etzwiler of Ashland; nine grandchildren Anthony (Heather), Matthew, Adam, Ross, Lauren, Evan, Ellie, Emma, Ally;  great-grandchildren Liv and Julian; sister Lucila Violago of Philippines.

Lina was preceded in death by her husband, sister Fely, and brother Herminio.
