Lionel Keith Boyes

Lionel Keith Boyes, 88, of Wooster, died Wednesday, December 6, 2023 at Ohio’s Hospice LifeCare.

Keith was born October 22, 1935 in Prichard, WV to Walter and Flora {Elrod} Boyes.

He graduated from Fort Gay High School in West Virginia. He served in the US Navy from 1953 to 1956.

Keith married Carol Ann Witt on October 28, 1961. They were married for 37 years before they divorced. She died on July 26, 2010. He then married Erma Jett Lafontaine on May 26, 1999. She survives.

Keith owned Wooster Floral for over 30 years until his retirement in 1999. He attended the North Wooster Baptist Church. He was a member of the American Legion Post 68, was an avid hunter, fisherman, enjoyed playing Eucher, and was a talented artist.

Keith will be deeply missed by his wife; children Phillip (Bonnie) Boyes of OK, Bambi (Sam) Giauque of Warsaw; step-children George (Lisa) Gravley of CA; grandchildren Emily, Jessica, Sammy, Jacob, Tanner, step-grandchildren Lauryn, Leola, and Trey; 7 great-grandchildren; 4 step great-grandchildren; sister Vera Hamilton of FL; and many nieces and nephews.

Keith was preceded in death by his step-son Jeremy Gravley, brothers Merle, Vernon, Walter, sisters Wanda, Novenda, and Glenna.

Roberts Funeral Home-Sherwood Chapel, Wooster. Graveside services and burial will be Tuesday at 2:15 P.M. at Ohio Western Reserve National Cemetery with Pastor Jamie Rickard officiating, where military rites will be held.
