Lois Budd

Lois Irene Budd, 90, of Ashland, died Monday, March 5, 2018 at her residence surrounded by her loving family and on her 68th wedding anniversary.

Lois was born July 9, 1927 in Ashland to Jacob and Edna {Fry} Markel.

She married Raymond George Budd on March 5, 1950.  He passed away on August 30, 2004.

Lois and Raymond owned a dairy farm in Ashland. She was a member of Maple Grove Church of the Brethren. Lois was a self-taught of many talents, including baking wedding cakes, sewing, gardening, and cooking for family and friends. She most loved her favorite feline companion, Butters.

Lois will be deeply missed by her daughters Diana L. Budd and Julie A. (Dale) Woodgerd both of Ashland; brother Samuel (Iris) Markel of Ashland.

Lois was preceded in death by her husband of 54 years, daughter Janet Wickham, brothers Robert and Richard Markel, and sister Mildred Carmen.

Memorial services will be Saturday at 11 a.m. at Maple Grove Church of the Brethren in Ashland.  Friends may call one hour prior to the service from 10 to 11 a.m. at the church.  Inurnment will be held at a later date at Ashland County Memorial Park.   Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of North Central Ohio at 1050 Dauch Dr, Ashland, OH  44805 or Maple Grove Church of the Brethren at 960 Twp Rd 964, Ashland, OH  44805.
